Finding that the "Just For Men" Brush-On beard coloring continued to raise their retail cost, I decided to try Just For MEN CONTROL X GREY-REDUCING BEARD WASH. At first, I was skeptical. However, following the directions carefully, I was pleased with the ease of use and results. I may add another star to this review after a week or two. The product did not irritate my facial skin nor cause any redness. Also, I detected no chemial odor whatsoever during it's use. The product formed suds quickly which were used to wash into my beard and sideburns. Having used it only once so far, I can say that the 4 ounce tube should yield many more beard washes. Once my first wash was completed, I waited the 2 minutes before rinsing. After a short while, I could then see a darker, yet gray tone on my beard other than a BLACK color I wanted to avoid. I've decided to wait a few days to see more results before I apply another wash. My only comment would be to have the box include a pair of plastic gloves to protect your hands when applying the wash formula. (Ironically, I did have a pair of clear, plastic gloves that I had saved from my last purchase of Just For Men Brush-On beard coloring.)

What I like about this product is that it doesn't instantly turn your beard an abnormal dark color. It took about a week for it to really start darkening my beard while still leaving some gray. I'm 53 and I want to keep some of the gray to keep a natural look and this product did what it said it would do. Now I just need to figure out how often to apply it to keep the color I have now as my beard grows out. READ the instructions and never apply it with your finger tips or it will turn your nails brown. Apply only with the palm of your hands or with goves.

First of all: Don't be lazy and do the skin test before you slap this on your face. You have gray hair already so we both know you're patient enough to wait another day. If you follow the directions you will not be happy with this product, and will spend a month trying to color your hair and wind up leaving an angry review. Do what one of the other reviewers suggested (thanks) and leave that stuff on for 10-15 minutes if you really want to change your color. As you stand around your bathroom try not to look down and wipe dye all over your chest. It will probably irritate your skin some but will actually color your hair in 1-2 applications instead of 15. You're not really going to be fooling anyone that has seen your beard already so just own it; "Yes, my beard is sexier today, thank you for noticing." You can do light touchup rinses as your beard grows out (1-2 weeks for a Scottish mane) and be fine. This will work better if you have a longer beard. If your skin gets dyed around the hair it should wash off with some scrubbing or a shave. If you have rough skin on your hands then this stuff will leave inky stains. You probably have a pair of nitrile/latex shop gloves around so if you're putting a bunch on, go ahead and glove up. This will not wash out of your hair so it's a fairly economical option versus a dye that's double the price. The instructions also warn you to use a dirty towel to dry your face. If you rinse all the gel out correctly with warm water then there is zero reason this will stain your towels. It doesn't stain any bath fixtures either, just wipe everything off. Follow this advice and you should be fine.

I’ve been using this product for some time, and it does work as advertised. It is a bit messy, and you might stain your nails or the shower in the process of using it. You will not see any results after your first use unless you allow it to remain on for quite some time (like 10+ min). If you desire that very gradual change then this is ideal. It will take a couple of weeks of use to notice any dramatic changes over your original color. Of course, if you want to keep it at some desired level of darkness you will need to consistently use this product. As for the staining of nails, it is quite difficult to remove with just soap and water, I found either use gloves (kind of a pain) or wash you can wash fingers in bleach briefly and then wash in soap in water. That quickly solves the issue. POSITIVES: • Will gradually darken beard over time • Has conditioners to soften beard • Easy to use like shampoo NEGATIVES: o Somewhat messy o Will stain nails, some skin types and shower o Requires frequent and consistent use to maintain o Can be difficult to find in stock CONCLUSIONS While I like the result of the just-for-men beard product, it is not a perfect product, and it can be messy to deal with if you are not careful. It is common to stain something that is unintentional and clean-up can be more of a chore than the actual use of the product. Generally, if you are careful, it is not that bad, however. Many times, when I have looked for it, it is out of stock so that is another issue. All that said it does a reasonable job of restoring the color to your facial hair over time. The cost is reasonable, but you will be roped into using it until you want a white beard. This is my honest opinion of this item. I hope it was helpful to you. 4 Stars RECOMMENDED.

This stuff is perfectly subtle! I put in on first thing in the shower and wait till the end to rinse it off. The longer you leave it in and the more often you use it the better the result! It shifts the color back into your beard and no one really notices! It makes you look less like a hobo and more like your younger self. Would recommend!!!

If you don’t wanna turn tour hair solid black and look weird while having age 50+ l, this is the product. It keeps your hair character and turns most hair dark gray or black and not giving you a teenager look.
